Workboats
GRP Laminates holds the exclusive world licence to manufacture South Cats, designed by Clive Jeffery, owner of South Boats Special Projects. The Company produces their highly successful 10, 11, 12 and 14 metre GRP catamarans, which are widely used as sport fishing, diving, survey, research and windfarm support craft. Designed for use in harsh conditions, these boats have been in use for 9 years, and over 50 are currently in use in the UK, Europe and Atlantic Canada.
By working closely with the customer, GRP Laminates has developed a unique Kit & Fit option which enables the user to specify many elements of the design and complete fit-out themselves, reducing cost. Through value engineering, we have taken out a number of build stages, simplified the mould design, reduced weight, construction costs and lead times.
Boats currently on the water include the official committee boat of the London 2012 Olympic Games built and completely fitted out by GRP Laminates.
Luxury Yacht Interiors
We have worked closely with the design team at Sunseeker to develop and value engineer a wide range of components, notably the Wet Bar, Jacuzzi and Console.
By moulding these items off-site and delivering them ready kitted out with metal fittings and pipework where required, we have helped Sunseeker to improve the efficiency and speed of their own production processes.
