History
GRP Laminates was founded by in 2000 by Bob Bennett and John Lynskey, both of whom had spent many years in the marine industry and had an ambition to establish a company offering the very highest of standards within their field of GRP manufacturing (Glass Reinforced Plastic) and boat building. Bob is a time-served boat builder/joiner who managed FBM Marine Limited's GRP facility in Cowes on the Isle of Wight for a number of years and is well respected within the industry.
In january 2005, GRP Laminates was acquired by Seighford Trading Limited to form the nucleus of their Marine Engineering Group along with Tiger Marine Limited who supply fast response craft. Seighford is providing significant investment to enable GRP Laminates to expand and, through their other businesses, are providing access to innovative technologies.
The company specialises in the manufacturing of fibreglass and composite mouldings, marine craft and related products, and can also undertake alterations and repairs on existing boats, yachts and areas such as hulls, decks, and whelhouses, for example.
The company works on regular contracts for the manufacture of RNLI lifeboat components, MOD requirements, Sunseeker International Motor Yacht Components, for example, along with various one off projects, on and off site for the marine, leisure and construction industries.
GRP Laminates also completed 2 x 53m Tri-Cat sets of fairings and components for FBM-Babcock Marine, Rosyth, and F.B.M.A, Phillipines.
