GRP Laminates has worked closely with Tyneside-based Homeseal Windows in South Shields, to deliver a tough and attractive new line in composite garage doors, designed to complement the company’s range of composite front doors in a wide range of colours and glazing designs.

The new composite product radically improves the quality, appearance and performance of garage doors. “There have been some serious supply issues in the UK garage door market,” explains Michael Mordew, Managing Director of Homeseal Windows. “Double glazing firms have not had much choice in this area.”

The Homeseal canopy garage door features a tough double GRP skin, moulded by GRP Laminates to the highest standards. “Thermal properties are very important where there is a bedroom or living space over a garage,” says Michael Mordew. The Homeseal garage door is 28mm thick, with an all-round weather seal that is far superior to conventional garage doors, improving thermal performance and reducing heat loss. The accuracy of RTM moulding techniques at GRP Laminates allows for a pre-glazed door panel, made in any style, glazing option or colour.

Together, GRP Laminates and Homeseal have taken this fast-track project from drawing board to production line in just eight weeks, giving window companies an attractive product, with good green credentials, a secure UK supply base and a vast range of colours to choose from.
