NEW BOATS & NEW INITIATIVES
Dear Reader,
Things are moving fast here at GRP Laminates - and not just our 27-knot South Cats, although with three new orders in as many months, they are going like hot cakes. In brief, since we spoke last, we have extended the South Cat range in more ways than one, and teamed up with Tiger Marine to develop an affordable bare boat Charter programme.
We recently crossed the Atlantic, as well as exploring Africa and the Middle East, and we’ve also been looking into coach, car and train design, with a view to better boats. More details on all these stories below, or give me a call any time to get the inside track on what is happening now at GRP Laminates. These are exciting times! Mark.

We are building a fleet of five South Cat workboats, from 12m to 14m, variously specified, which will be available for commercial charter through our sister company, Tiger Marine. The first of the new charter boats will be available in April 2012, with an ongoing build programme thereafter.
Tiger Marine is a well-known brand in the sector, with extensive military and life-saving boat experience. The Tiger team also has considerable experience of managing commercial charters and delivering the long-term support that charter clients require. Together with GRP Laminates, the aim is to reach new markets and give more customers the chance to experience the commercial and practical advantages of operating a South Cat.
Whether you are thinking of extending your fleet or just looking for a single season solution to fill a gap - chartering a Tiger Marine South Cat could be an affordable and innovative answer. The boat can be equipped to meet a wide variety of purposes. Contact us now for details.

“And as a result, we’ve had some really interesting responses from overseas customers.”
The itinerary has included Canada, Nigeria, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, and the kinds of vessels in negotiation range from commercial fishing boats to crew transfer and surveying in a wide range of different and challenging environments.
“You’ve really got to get face to face with people to understand what they are looking for and to get across the message that GRP Laminates has the skills and expertise to deliver a highly specialised, bespoke vessels at a reasonable cost.”
There remains educational work, to be done in some markets, where composite boats are not the norm, however with the high price of metals, a shorter build period and the exceptional quality that we can deliver, coupled with our ability to build to international classification standards, we have a great deal to offer.
