CLADDING
Airport control towers have very specific constraints in terms of their construction, and are generally bespoke to each airport. Their design can become iconic for the airport operator or host city, and yet they represent a small fraction of the airport development budget. The use of high quality, weatherproof and non-reflective composite cladding enables designers to deliver functional structures in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
GRP Laminates has produced specialised tooling for a leading manufacturer of roof and wall cladding for airport control tower installations in the UK and Europe. Working in close liaison with the designers, we developed a system incorporating over 120 individual component mouldings. These are delivered to the airport and installed by GRP Laminates staff where required.
