Hulls
GRP Laminates is working with South Boats Special Projects to produce hulls for their highly successful 10, 11 and 12 metre GRP catamarans, which are widely used as sport fishing, diving, survey, research and windfarm support craft. Designed for use in harsh conditions, these boats have been in use for 9 years, and over 50 are currently in use in the UK, Europe and Atlantic Canada.
By working closely with the customer, GRP Laminates is able to integrate many design elements into the original hull production process. Each hull is produced complete with toilet module, galley and console units, bulkhead and lockers, ready to fit out as required by the customer.
The latest Mk2 mould design has been simplified, reducing weight and further reducing construction costs. Through value engineering, we have helped to reduce the number of build stages, enabling South Boats SP to launch each boat in as little as eight weeks from completion of the hull.
A contract for up to six hulls a year enables us to utilise our production capacity more efficiently, as we can store them ready for delivery as they are called off by the client.
Luxury Yacht Interiors
We are an integral supplier to Sunseeker International, providing year round production and service support to this well-known manufacturer of luxury yachts. We have worked closely with the design team at Sunseeker to develop and value engineer a wide range of components, notably the Wet Bar, Jacuzzi and Console.
By moulding these items off-site and delivering them ready kitted out with metal fittings and pipework where required, we have helped Sunseeker to improve the efficiency and speed of their own production processes.
